Owners of Far East Yacht Builders, Inc

I have a 1966 Hereshoff 28 modified staysail ketch, wooden hull, double planked, longitudinal over diagonal, bronze fastened. Anyone out there have one of these? Any thoughts on the advantages/disadvantages of this construction? I don't know what or if anything was sandwiched between the inner and outer hulls.

According to GOB magazine, Far East Yachts (Japan) ceased construction of wooden boats in 1968.

GM,
Thanks for the speedy reply. I think I might have a rare survivor although the hull is No. 82. Good Old Boat didn't mention FEYB's production of the Hereshoff design. I new about the other sites but haven't posted with any of them yet. I'll do that. See if any of the other members here weigh in on the construction method.
