Orion 50 needs help
Hi I have a good mate who is having some rudder trouble with his Orion 50. He just arrived in Vanuatu after have auto pilot problems crossing from Fiji. The auto pilot was working hard because his rudder was getting tight. Its probably a bearing but we would love to see a drawing if anyone has one or pics . Anyone who has worked on an Orion rudder may have some info. I have found a slip he can haul out but with a jammed rudder its going to be difficult to get there. By the way he has dived on it so its not a rope around it or anything simple. The owner is very experienced & has crossed done a circumnavigation or 2 . The boat is INCA of London its an extended Orion 5O to 58 but the rudder wasnt alterd .
Any help appreciated & I will forward on to him.
