Oceanis 41 purchased

Well, I pulled the trigger and bought a 2013 Oceanis 41, I already know it’s not the best blue water boat! That being said I still would appreciate any advice you folks can give me.

Keep up with maintenance.




If you find a leak, or discover an area of the deck with high moisture, pull the offending hardware and fix it.


Keep gel coat waxed and looking good, and it will last decades and still look like new. Let it go, and it will get stained and ruined.


Use the boat religiously. Decline all invitations to weddings, friends' BBQs, and kiddie birthday parties.

We did buy one year ago exactly the model and year boat. We are very happy with it. A superb coastal sailboat. And since there are 10s of thousands miles of coastline out there, I don’t see us anytime run out of fun!
I have started on a number of improvement projects, so if you have questions, let me know.
