New owner of C&C 35 MKII Seeks Advice!!

Hello Folks!

I have just Purchased a 1974 C&C 35 MKII!! She surveyed VERY well and is in pristine condition. My girlfriend and I are heading south in August of 2015. Final destination (for now) is Trinidad. I was just wondering if anyone here has taken a boat like this or the same boat on a southern cruising adventure and if so, how did she perform? I haven't sailed her yet as the great lakes are frozen right now (BOO) and I just curious if anyone else has any experience with this or a similar boat

I have a pair of Newport 41s and they sail like champs. fast. comfortable. point well.

How on earth did you get a frozen boat surveyed at this time of year ?
