Morgan 382

This is directed to those Morgan 382 owners out there. What is your bridge clearance/mast height measurements without instrument atop ? I am looking to purchase a Morgan 382 but the only thing that would turn me off is the mast height as I need to negotiate many bridges each year to get out on the gulf. Thanks

Morgan 382 bridge clearance

Thanks, those specs I have seen before but I have also read several Morgan 382 postings from owners that vary greatly, some 50', some 52', some 55 and 56'. Pretty confusing. I suspect but have no proof that the earlier 382 models had a shorter mast, then through the years the 383 and 384 were higher. So I am looking for an owner of one of the early model Morgan 382s to advise what their bridge clearance is, bare mast no instrumentation.

In which case, you should confirm the specific measurements of your actual candidate boat.

can anyone tell me the head room in the the 384? I am in houston, texas and am in the market for a boat for sailing in the bay, and doing some offshore sailing. My problem is, my partner is 6'4" and I want to make sure that there is enough head room for him.

Thanks

Re: Morgan 382

I'm 6'2" and my son is almost 6'6. I'm happy, he not so much. 6'4" is a tough call.

Re: Morgan 382

a 38' boat, what does it matter if the mast is 50' or 65'? You're going to have to have a bascule bridge open either way.
