Max Prop Lube ??

For 20 yrs I have used Lubriplate grease in my max prop. I am looking for another grease that is more durable or less prone to wasking out. I am lucky to get a season out of the prop before I have to re-grease. I have the zerks but it is still a bit of a pain. Any other suggestions?

Lubricate makes some of the best lubricants around. What product # are you using? I've been using their 1200-2 multipurpose grease for years in many applications with excellent results. If your using the same # I'd suggest their product numbered 1242, it has a higher viscosity and should stay put longer in that application. Just my 2c. Dan

If your Lubriplate is washing out of your Max prop, you aren't using the right Lubriplate product. You should be using Lubriplate 130AA and it should last for years.

Buy plenty of grease. As you pump it in the old stuff pumps out so you can replace most of the grease that's in the prop if you pump lots in.
In these remote parts you cannot get specialised products so I have used ordinary lithium based marine grease without any problems.
It's a messy job, make sure you do it after painting the prop ( if you do that) because grease will ooze out for days .
