The vacuum method works best with a music compact cassette tape. However, it won't work good enough for going upwards a mast ;-)

For going down I also worked with small lead weights like the kind you crimp onto a light fishing line. I crimped them on the cassette tape.

Thanks for both ideas. I wiil be feeding down from the top, so the vacuum idea can utilize the foam mouse idea, but the light chain and magnet sound much easier. There is no way I can try to get back into the conduit with a fishhtape. It's in a corner of the mast that is inaccessible from the cable exit point. All put together when the mast was down.
