Mary Deare Information!

Dear Members of Cruisers Forum!
I was the lucky owner of the writer Hammond Inness sailyacht: "Mary Deare"
It is a 43 feet steelconstruction build in Holland.
I own the yacht from 1988 until 1990 and sold it,
after having a very nice time sailing from Denmark to Meditterranien Sea.

After selling "Mary Deare" I do not know what happened with the yacht?

Do anybody know the yacht and location today?

Information betwen the period 1990 until 2014?

I really hope somebody can help me with information!

Best regards
Troels

Re: Mary Deare Information!

Hi...I just noticed your info on owning the Mary Deare which brought back some happy memories of sailing on the yacht for 11 days in the 1970 Middle Sea Race from Malta, Lampedusa, Pantelleria, Sicily, then back to Malta.

Re: Mary Deare Information!

Slightly off thread but seeing the name Mary Deere inspired me to reread the book The Wreck Of the Mary Deere by Hammond Innes.

It was as good as I remembered.

The library had to dig it out of storage etc.

Not many books feature a chase scene between a power boat and a sailboat these days especially one that lasts over night and into the next day

Then there's the two men trying to handle a damaged 6,000 ton ship alone in a gale

A great seagoing adventure story!
