No questions really. I am making an offer on a Catalina 36
tomorrow. It has been a journey of 10 years of looking, coming close and having the proverbial "something" come up. Finally, I am there
! I started my search in earnest in 2004. In 2005, the time seemed right. Was within a week of making an offer on a 32' Hunter
. Life threw a curve making it impractical.
Again in 2007 the opportunity was there and I looked at another bunch of boats. Found several that I was really interested in and again life took a strange turn. No regrets, I was able to help a friend through a life threatening illness that meant my boat would have to wait.
Now that life seems to have settled out, I started looking again. Seems that my tastes have moved into a slightly larger fair with the goal of moving aboard becoming a reality. I looked at a few Catalina 36
boats ranging from 1983 to 1995 and find the boat to be cozy and fitting for me.
I have settled on the one that has a good hull
, but needs a little TLC. The rigging
is in great shape, but the interior
looks a wee bit shabby. Nothing that attention won't bring together.
I am starting to get excited...just a little
My lurking here has been invaluable so far and I am sure that it will continue to be so.
