Cool. Is 'early 2013' a good time to take off from Portugal? Boreal winter can be pretty harsh for a homebuilt 25' gaffer with only one person onboard. Website, blog? Good luck, barnakiel

Departure is always dependent on weather, there's no rush.

Then you should sail in the correct season. And for that passage it's leave Portugal April thru September, Canary Islands till November then either n Cape Verd Islands or Brazil direct... Which takes you very close to Cape Verde kIslands anyway.



It's a great trip! I loved every minute of Brazil from out landfall in Receife all the way south.
