Looking for Chesepeake bay Dockage for a 57'

I just purchased a 57' cruiser and now looking for dockage on the Chesapeake for the spring/summer season. I'm flexible on the location from Annapolis to Norfolk.
  • low cost (haha)
  • low frills ( don't need anything except boat storage while away)
  • safe secure
  • deep draft (9.5')
  • no racing
Please share any recommendations.

Sincere thanks!

Rob

Salt Ponds Marina Resort
or
Southall Landings Marina

Easy to get to from the Ocean, great rates, very safe, and very protected.

I don't think 9.5ft draft is going in the Salt Pond very easily think approach is 6.5ft at best. 10ft draft is a different world for most of the bay.

Does he want easy transportation like to an airport, any liveaboard. Va or Md ok, I like Solomon Island MD. Cape Charles has some options. In Hampton think Old Point Comfort is 20ft to the dock.

In general, the further you get from Annapolis and the Bay Bridge area, the cheaper the dockage.

There are a few marinas in Deale, which is an area that many consider to be the sweet spot between cost and convenience of access. Farther on down the Bay in VA, Deltaville probably has some reasonable rates.

Deale from my memory is another limited to 6-7ft. He needs the older harbors.

Yeah, the draft is the issue. I would look at Carter's Cove Marina in Weems.

Oxford on the eastern shore. Campbell’s Batchelor Pointe. Have a friend who kept a 9.5 draft there.

try deltaville-
jackson creek side has 10 feet low water and the tugs go in/out -Deltaville Marina or go to Fishing Bay side to Chesapeake Marine- they can as well haul that draft.

Cambridge Yacht Club - N Dock - slip 12 or higher is cheapest place on the Choptank with GREAT draft. Also Cambridge Municipal Marina only about 2% higher than Yacht Club. Same river entrance same basic location. All amenities and takes up to 60' for long term. I've seen 70's in there just prior to the boat show">Annapolis Boat Show.

Try Old Town Marina (ex-nice Gay's Marina). Deep water, no frills, safe and protected ... And 20 nmins from BWI airport. Not sure of your definition of "cheap" but time is money.

Try Crockett’s Landing, Irvington Va (in Carter Creek off the Rappahannock River). Minimal amenities and minimal cost. Beautiful spot and great people. Had my boat there till we moved to West coast.

Not deep enough at the yacht club or municipal marina but slips in Deep Creek are deep enough.

That would work with 9.5' draft. Oxford is a really nice town also.

The inexpensive piece is the hardest to meet. Can you give a range?

Maybe a mooring at Hartge on the West River?
