If they are mostly cordless power tools, you may want to check the battery charger of the tool's specs (usually on the charger itself). Most I've observed will take both 110 and/or 220. Laptops, digital cameras, etc. same thing - most of them handle both. Another thing to watch out for is the voltage frequency. In the US it is 60 Hz I believe. Otherwise, as you said use a converter (AC voltage transformer) or an inverter if you're changing power from DC to AC.
