Ken Hitchens (Snead Island Marine Surveyors) in Florida did a great job for us. Don't know how far he travels. Found him through our broker, Alan Pressman... also highly recommended.

To the sailor looking to buy an Island Packet. The IP 420 referenced above is a boat that saw significant hurricane damage back 05' and later was struck by lighting sometime 2012-2013 and there is water damage to the interior. Boat has been on the market 15 months and no takers even after owner lowered price nearly $60k to $240K.

If you are looking for a big project boat and have time to spend. there is a IP45 for sale in Ft. Laud. This is a project boat: needs new standing and running rigging, chainplates require replacement as does the holding tank. Electronics including radar are shot and wind generator likely doesn't work. Both bow thruster and watermaker have numerous issues and will require significant repairs and new parts. Numerous hoses have cracks and are leaking; canvas on Bimini and stack-pack are past their useful life and require immediate replacement. Boat on market roughly one year.

A 26 mkII and 35. We've owned the 26 for 15 years and the 35 is new to us.

I have to say that this thread is getting at more than the attention I expected. Thank you to all who have replied with a variety of boats for sale. I won't be in the market to actually buy for about 3 years. So, I expect that the ones that are available now will be sold by then.
Thank you again to all who are listing the surveyors that they used. I will be contacting some of them in the foreseeable future to start working through the process of picking one. I also appreciate the concept of getting a local for a rough draft on the survey.
