Looking for a ~50' Cruiser

Experienced racer with 3 small kids forced to tack over to a cruiser. I'm looking at Beneteau 473, Beneteau 49 and Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 49. Budget is high 200k range. Wondering what you all think. I live in NYC and will be mainly cruising the northeast out of Long Island Sound. Am I crazy to be considering an off-charter boat? Is buying a boat in Europe and having her delivered across the pond a realistic proposition? The values over there appear to be tremendous...!

For a European boat you would need to convert all the electrical/appliances from 220v to 110v. There have been a few threads on that. Most people say it is PITA, a few say it isn't a big deal. Good luck in your search.
