I'd also be guessing that for about the same cost as buying an older fibreglass boat you could get the engine and ballast into your project and get launched.

In about the same timeframe and cost as buying you may be able to get going, only with an unfinished boat.

I could finish it really! I just want to sail a little bit before I turn 80.
