I need to repair the gate hardware on my lifelines. Is the west marine hand swaging tool the right tool for the job?

No. Ugly crimps with that. Send them to a rigger.

Yup...I agree. Just had mine done at the rigger. Used existing gate closers and the cost was around $400...looks great.

Swages by the WM swaging machine have failed on me twice. That thing is useless.
