I'm trying to figure out the differences between the
Jeanneau Sun Odyssey & Sun Fast. (37 or 40)
I have noticed that Sunsail are selling a few Sun Fast in the EU at prices that seem to be a fair bit lower than the same sized Sun Odyssey.
From what I can see or have been lead to believe.
- The hulls and interior are pretty much the same.
- The SF keel is deeper more suited to racing than the SO keels.
- The mast and rigging on the SF are more race oriented, perhaps carrying greater sail area. The SF does not necessarily have running backstays making them more difficult to handle short handed.
I am not so interested in roller mains which many SO's have, so as long as the SF does not have the running back stays then I should be looking at the SF as well as the SO.
... or are there other differences that make the SF less suitable for cruising?
