Jeanneau 43 DS Arch for Solar/WindGen /Davits ?

Hi all

I am looking at a SO43DS (in the UK) that doesn't have an Arch on the stern or a Bimini.
I have seen some nice ones on other yachts but nothing of note on a 43 DS.(std Biminis yes).
On this particular Yacht the Raydome is up the mast so would not be needed (near my head) but WindGen, Solar Panels plus Dingy Davits would be nice.

Anyone give me a steer, photos would be nice and maybe a cost if you can.

Many thanks

Here is one photo I found from Kato Marine in Annapolis. They specialize in stainless steel fabrication. I am in the process of putting together an arch through them, but of course you are in the UK. You can add options to the arch for anything so desire, whether it be a wind generator mount, solar panel mounts, misc. antennas, etc. I'm sure there is a stainless steel fabrication shop somewhere near you that could do something similar.

we sail a jeanneau ds40 -- we did not put an arch per se but built a solar panel holder - if that is what you want to call it over our bimini

a pic of one with 2 solar panels is in our profile pics -- i would put one here but not sure how

That's pretty much what I had in mind.
More research needed by me I think.
What do you do with your dingy ?

That's pretty nice, looks lightweight too.
I either like them like that or really big like the Hunters.

No an arch, but a set of dingy davits with solar panels mounted on the davits.
Not massive davits, only a small dink, and the engine is not left on.
The wind gen is on a separate pole.

Cost of the davits £800 by a local fabricator (non marine) at Huyton in Liverpool.
Quote from a marine fabricator was £4,000
Fitted the davits myself.
Picture is not the best angle, but you should get the gist.

What do you do with your dingy ?

They make dinghy attachments for the arch, along with anything else you want to mount.

I have had a search and found what appears to be a decent company not too far away.
They are called Mr Stainless.
Mr Stainless

Thanks all

Capt Ludd,

so what did you decide? I hv a Jeanneau 43DS as well and am looking to add transom arch & bimini. Did you decide to go with Mr Stainless in Ipswich? any pics of the result?

Hi
I have a Jen 45.2, with a cockpit tent, Bimini and frame for two 100W solar panels.

The tent and then the Bimini later were fitted by Tech Sow in Gosport. Possibly not the cheapest but very good, we are very pleased.

If you are mounting solar pannels(I would not be without them) it is essential that as much as possible they are shadow free, as the slightest shadow can cut down the power considerably.

Re: Jeanneau 43 DS Arch for Solar/WindGen /Davits ?

Beneteau USA had an arch as an option on the B423. When I bought my B393 in 2004 I specified an arch. The dealer installed the 423 arch on my boat as B did not have an arch specifically for the 393. The cost at the time was half of what a custom arch cost. A few owners on the B393 owners site later bought arches from Beneteau and installed them. When B ran out of arches some 393 owners contacted the manufacturer in Florida and ordered arches.
