Its official! I brought the boat home!

I have been a member here and learned a lot from all of you over the last few months. I am proud to say that I have just arrived in St. Augustine with my new boat after a 48 hour sail from Ft. Lauderdale. It started out great with light winds and calm seas. We got to sail Sunday afternoon for a few hours before the wind died, then had to motor through the night, and most of the day Monday. We ducked into Ponce Inlet for the night last night due to a forecast of severe thunderstorms which did not materialize fortunately. Today was awesome. Started out with light winds but then we had a picture perfect sail the rest of the day with 10-15 knots on the beam and sailed at 6-8 knots all afternoon. I just wish the admiral could have been with me for the maiden voyage, alas she is busy at work being a CPA. I can't be happier with the boat, the 240 mile shakedown cruise was flawless and I am now tied up at my new home away from home at Comachee Cove Yacht Harbor in St. Augustine, FL. I am sure I will be even more active here now that I am beyond boat shopping and am actually sailing!

No, mine was "Kea". I looked at Tranquilite, nice boat but too pricey for me. The new name is "Anhinga", a tribute to a boat my dad used to have with that name.

Capt.Alex,

Don't you just love it when a maiden voyage goes without a hitch? Congrats.

Transformer,
Now don't you feel a bit silly? As most of us know, you don't need any certificates to be the Captain of your own vessel but many of us have them anyway.

Well done Captain.

kind regards,
