Is this big or just flippin' HUGE

Spotted in Antigua recently, the Mirabelle V. For scale, the boat docked beside it is 130 feet.

One year in Antigua it was docked stern-to to the Maltess Falcon. Boy, was that empressive!

The mast is to high to fit under the Golden Gate Bridge! As a reference an Aircraft Carriers antennas clear the bottom of the bridge by ten feet in calm conditions at mid tide.

Per the crew, sailing is made difficult because the apparent winds direction can be slightly different at the top portion of the sail vs the foot of the sail when surface winds are different than low level winds.

Are you sure about the Golden Gate? Wikipedia advises the height of the Golden Gate is 746 ft, where as Miribelle V's mast is 292 feet. That leaves over 400 feet clearance

The height of the towers is 746 feet. The height of the deck above mean higher high water is 220 feet. At 292 feet, the mast is too tall to get inside the SF Bay....unless they decide to really heel over.

Of course. Everything is push button.

Docking single handed could be interesting. Might have to anchor out. Word has it that when those guys visit the Bahamas they anchor in Miami and take the tender across.

It side-tied at Falmouth Harbor. A tender pushed the stearn and bow -hrusters swung the bow over.
