Re: Is it time to replace my cutlass bearing?

Call one of the boat parts places in Chaguaramas Trinidad and see if they have the bearing. Ask if they can send it on a plane? Fedex from USA is $98 for 2 lbs so that's out I guess. OTOH... how much is another haulout?

Re: Is it time to replace my cutlass bearing?

I have a friend returning from the states in less than two weeks, and I might ship a bearing to him to bring on the plane. That's the preferred method.

I actually just got back from a short trip to the states, and though I brought two solar panels back in a suit bag, I somehow managed not to get a new cutlass bearing. Doh.

Ouch, expensive oversight, you will of course be buying two and keeping a spare on board just in case (says I, reaching for the CC to order another).
