| ?? Input on Portable Butane heater for Pocket Cruiser
Hi Gang. I'm curious if anyones used a portable outdoor butane heater aboard their pocket cruiser. I've used the heater buddy propane aboard my 24' neptune and it worked great. This is what I'm considering getting for my salon. Amazon.com: Portable Outdoor Butane Heater, Red Md: 193: Sports & Outdoors I'd turn it off before hitting the rack and keep the area ventilated while using it. Thoughts/input. Thanks Stephen s/v SIRIUS Cal 2-25 Seattle |

The manufacturer says: “BE SAFE - DO NOT USE INDOORS – This heater is for outside use only!" I’d agree, although “turning it off before hitting the rack and keeping the area ventilated while using it” might tend to somewhat mitigate the dangers . Goto: http://www.stansport.com/2007/specif...c/193_inst.pdf *** Instead, check out portable gas heaters certified for INDOOR use, such as: "Buddy Heaters" from Enerco/Mr. Heater: http://www.mrheater.com/ProductFamily.aspx?catid=41 Specifically: http://www.mrheater.com/upload/newsl..._eng_rev_c.pdf

| Generically, you'll find we're hard nosed about heaters aboard boats, because more than a few of us have personally known people who died using them. Sailboats are designed to be as water proof as possible, far more so than a house or a tent or an RV. We have far less margin with carbon monoxide or dioxide, because there is so little natural exchange of air from inside our boats to the outside.
