I'm taking the plunge

Buying a 1968 Columbia 28.

Has new paint from keel to deck. All new rigging, standing and running. New keel bolts and rudder work. Very clean inside. Good mooring situation on military base will save me $200 a month, for 5 months. Paying $9k.

Seller (young military couple) said they put in 20k over the past few years. I learned my lesson about buying an old boat, then fixing stuff after. Figure it's better to buy a boat after someone else has done that and needs to sell.
