Hurricane Florence

New Bern, at the end of the river got hammered but that was to be expected.

https://www.facebook.com/abcnews4/vi...7929349198416/

Oriental got 1” more than Irene. That probably put most yard/marina lots under 3-4’ of water.

Where do you keep your boat there?

Re: Hurricane Florence

I would like to report that my girl, Seaquel, survived. She is sitting ON the dock but is upright and seemingly undamaged.

Re: Hurricane Florence

He's definitely not alone. My broker just called me to let me know that my 30' C&C is sitting on a piling at Pecan Grove marina. He said it looks like the rudder is damaged. He wanted to ask me "what do I want to do?". I told him to "do whatever it takes to get it off". I can't get down there due to flooded roads. Plus I'll be in Europe all of the following week.

Going to call my insurance agent on Monday.

Hi chrismct... our hunter 27 is also at the cherry point marina. A dockmate had to pull it off a piling during the high water and there appears to be no damage. Hopefully Florence was a once in a lifetime event for cherry point.

Our boat is at Pecan Grove also. We live in New Bern and the only info we got was ‘We think you’re ok. That’s it. Sea Harbor Marina (where we stayed when we were liveaboards) have been continually updating their people even with crappy internet etc...
I know we can’t do anything yet but it’s frustrating.

Hi Hans and Laura. I saw some pictures of pecan grove on towndock.net. It appeared to be in good shape. A friend that has a slip there said that the owner and crew were up all night adjusting dock lines. Click image for larger version

Re: Hurricane Florence - NW Creek - New Bern

Water is now below the fixed docks but a couple pics of the mess. Also a new high water record. Previous record ( Irene) is the waist high white marker. Finally got a pic, my boat is floating free with no apparent damage in photos,

That indicates they aren't customer sensitive. You could do a separate post with their name in the subject line explaining the treatment. This is bad publicity for a marina.

I am in Missouri right now. I wonder if they can push her off?
