Re: Hunter Edge 27

Just looked at some youtube videos. It looks just like a mac 26 but newer design.

What do you want to know?

Here is an article about the boat. I am always a bit skeptical about boat reviews, after Hunter is also an advtiser...

http://www.sailingmagazine.net/boat-...6-hunter-edge-

There are several MacGregor 26 boats here that are basically the same concept. One was lost when the owner tried to sail it before filling the water ballast and she broached, filled with water and settled upright but still floating at "deck" level. I think the Hunter needs the same caution about sailng mode vs. powerboat mode.

I never sailed thwe MacGregor but sailed against them in many races. Bottom line is the Mac 26 sails like a pig. Apologies to any M26 owners...

If you must have a powerboat and a sailboat it may be the choice for some. If you want a great powerboat or a great sailboat then these "hybrids" in my mind don't fit either bill very well. My opnion and yours may be different.

There is one family who gets out a lot and enjoy their boat very much.

Here is a thread I found with a discussion of these boats.
