HUNTER 33'-34'

Any experiences with these type of sailboats? Are they good sailing vessels capable of blue water cruising by two people on a long term basis? I understand that they have shallow draft of about 4' Comments please.

Chartered a Hunter 34' about 3 years ago in the BVI's and HATED it. I can't remember/think of a single thing I liked about it, except that it was a sailboat and it did get us around for a week; but with a lot of bitching and moaning along the way.

Have since chartered Jeaneaus and Lagoons and liked all of them a lot.

The Hunter was like a Hugo ; the others more like Buicks or better.

Good budget coastal cruisers, but not designed for offshore. Light displacement, weak build. Plenty of interior space. The shallow draft makes for a rough ride.
I did a delivery on a 25. 100 miles up the coast, and got beat up a bit, but it was a fast ride.
