How to tell a #6 Luff Tape?

I just refurbished and installed a CDI Flexifurler on my Mirage 24 and confirmed with CDI that the one I have takes a #6 furling tape. I am shopping locally for a used Genoa while I save funds for a new one and my question is this: should the furling tape be marked in some way as a #6 or whatever, or is there another way I can identify or confirm the size furling tape on a used sail?

A #6 is 7/32".

Re: How to tell a #6 Luff Tape?

Carry a set of dial calipers, & or a sample from your sailmaker. Though most tapes are #6's.
