Well, that's a nice opinion to have, and I wish it weren't so, but the plain fact is--as others have already said numerous times--buying a boat is not like buying a car. There IS a lot of mystery in it. There is simply not a large enough market to establish meaningful average values. And, again, condition counts for more than almost anything else, and you can't judge condition from an advertisement and a few pictures.

When buying a boat, there is simply no substitute for getting out and looking, first hand, at lots and lots of boats. That is the only way that you are going to get a good feel for those with reasonable asking prices, versus those with excessive asking prices.

BUC and NADA are next to worthless in this endeavor. Perhaps even LESS than worthless, since they seem to only confuse the matter.
