how much and insurance

hi all

reading a thread about a guy need to have his boat hauled out for a insurance inspection but hit with a catch 22 ie - no insurance without inspection and boat yard wont lift without insurance so my question
when i need survey and need a boat lift how do you get past this catch 22 ??
and while im here how much does a lift out cost for say a 40ft yacht
and how long does it stay out the water for ie a day or two to let the bottom dry for the survey ??
