Help my dog! Grip on the inside "liner" of sailboat for traction?

Question for the knowledgeable about grip on interior.

I don't have any photos better than what is posted. My dog is one of my sailing buddies. She is good on the deck as you can see, but down below is not the same. The liner is kind of slippery for my dog. I was wondering if anyone has ever done anything to the interior to give that slick gelcoat a better grip? She moves ok in main cabin, but going through the head to the v-berth, the floor is not level (intentionally by design to drain water) and she slips a bit. Was wondering about kiwi grip or something similar to give grip to the interior floors? Dumb idea or sound thinking?

or a snap-in carpet with finished edges like power boaters use alot. Or that grey foam "diamond plate" 3/8" thick interlocking Garage Floor tiles (2ft x 2ft) Nice on the feet, easy to cut and you can pull up any section you want to get at bilge boards etc. Cheap. may not be great on a heavy heel, but OK in other conditions. I used it on a trawler once and really liked it.

Even regular carpeting, cut to fit (make a paper pattern first) doesn't slide around much (because it fits). Buy scrap at a carpet store. Cut with a utility knife on the back and seal the edges with glue (applied at the base of the fibers) to minimize unraveling. Replace as needed. Cheap and functional.

I second the carpet, gives her something to grip and a cushioned place to lay or land if she gets thrown around by a wave.

We did carpet for ours. I put that really cheap "cabinet liner" non-slip under the carpet. I'd be opposed to anything permanent...non-slip means hard-to-clean in my book.

ok. It was not sound thinking. I have a rubber bottom carpet on top that fits almost perfect and does not slide around. I'll get some rubber for the head area too. Thanks for the input guys/gals. Sometimes, running an idea past others really helps! I have been working on projects all winter getting ready for this coming month. New sails this year too!

I will also put forth, keep the nails trimmed, less trauma on a "slip and jab", lessens dependance on the "claw" aspect. Running down the beach, they dig in, on slick surfaces they are counter productive, yet counted on by the dog to hold. On an older animal, may take some time to train the nail back so it can be trimmed without hitting the "quick". Alum on hand the first time if you have not done it a lot.
