I'm currently cruising in Maine
on a friend's boat
and he just found a mysterious metal part under his otherwise very clean motor
, a 2010 Kubota 37hp 4cylinder (marinized by Phaysor). It appears to be the something you might turn with your fingers like an adjustment screw, but it has a hole all through it like a valve of some sort, it seems to have the same metallic paint
as the motor
, a symbol that looks like if light be Japanese, and it's a such a soft/cheap metal that can be dented with my fingernail. It's totally baffling where this came from since the motor is still running great and we can find no visible place this might have broken off of, but it's causing some minor anxiety. Any ideas what this is?
