Help identify this boat!

So I'm looking for a sailboat to learn on, and I've got people looking all around for me, and someone sent me this photo. He thinks it's a 25' Macgregor, but it doesn't look like the ones that i've seen. Can anyone i.d. this boat?

Re: Help identify this boat!

Looks familiar, but I cant place what it is. I too don't think it's a Macgregor. http://sailboatdata.com/viewrecord.asp?class_id=66
Looks a little like a Clipper Marine or something...

Looks a bit like a "Venture of Newport" aka Macgregor 23.

Re: Help identify this boat!

It looks like a Venture/McGreagor. They put out a "classic" look boat. I saw a few of them on Cayuga Lake when I taught sailing at the Boy Scout Camp 30 yrs ago

Should have a HIN

That may be it. Looks a bit like this one. A lot of curve to the sheer line.

Re: Help identify this boat!

It looks like one you should walk away from quickly. No matter the brand or manufacturer.

If this is the size boat you are looking for, they are a dime a dozen out there. All ready to sail at very cheap prices.

So... if it were me, I would just take a pass on one that came with bushes, weeds, rust and rotting tires attached.

I don't know. Nice bow spirit, are those brass port windows? Might warrant another look!

Re: Help identify this boat!

I would never have expected this to be a Venture Macgregor. My Venture 22 from 1980 looks nothing like it.
