Help for Life Long Sailor

Hello again all,

I have a special request. My boss (and friend) is a life long sailor. Even to the point of designing his own day sailor (see http://www.sailingmagazine.net/boats...sign/872-scoot). Unfortunately, Dale has developed brain cancer and is now confined to a wheel chair. He would like to charter a boat with captain and crew for a final (?) sailing trip. Does anyone know a good charter that can manage a handicapped passenger?

Please help if you can. I can thank Dale for introducing me to sailing and many other things. I would love to make this happen for him.

Thanks all!

Dave

Re: Help for life long sailor

I'm sorry to hear of your friends struggles. Tough times.

Although not a sail boat, one of my competitors in Alaska specializes in accomodating folks in wheel chairs. The "Sea Wolf" does 5-day trips in Glacier Bay. They're good folks. www.seawolfadventures.net/

Re: Help for life long sailor

Dave, where are you guys located and how long of a trip?

I work as a charter captain here in San Diego and would be more than happy to figure something out. I'd have to talk to my boss but if he's good with being carried onboard I'm a pretty stout fellow.

We have catamarans and monos, but the catamarans might be easier on him. Good luck either way.

Thanks to both of you! We are located on the East coast so a FLA charter would be easy. However, travel is not out of the question as we are currently visiting the Reagan ranch to fulfill another wish. I will talk to him and touch base.

Thanks again.
