Harlinger Yachtbow Cumulant 38

I bought a Harlinger Jachtbouw, Dutch built steel 38' sloop in 1997 and have yet to see another one or read about one being cruised. I'm looking forward to hearing from these obscure boat owners. Most likely they are on the other side of the pond in Europe.

Not too many of these boats around, even in Holland. The yard went out of business many years ago. It seems to be a "Van de Stadt" design. This is a very well known designer overhere. It's not on the list of designs on his own website though (Van de Stadt Design). I've read some dutch comments on the boat at they seem to be quite rugged boats.
(wie kent de HJB cumulant 38?)

Forgot to mention it is the HJB Cumulant 38 F as you mentioned. I believe the yard is now doing upgrades on large mega yachts. Thank's for the reply. Steve

Hi Saben,
I own a HJB Cumulant38 from 1984 and its sailing on the other side of the pond indeed. It's a superb sailingyacht at sea.

Dear Wouter Peter,
as you will have read on the forum I own a cumulant38 from 1984 and I live nearby; Waalwijk. I have it now since 2000 and have done almost everything on maintenance and overhaul. So if you want info I can help you with that. I would like to see yours. Mine is in Denmark this winter and next summer.

Re: Harlinger Yachtbow Cumulant 38

HI Saben,
I used to own a Cumulant 36....bought it in Rhode Island in 1996...sailed it back to Nantucket and then circumnavigated from 1997 to 2003...sold her to a friend who had crewed with me in Indonesia and he is now half way around again....last heard of somewhere in Micronesia. She was a great boat but during the whole six years i never saw another Cumulant anywhere in my travels and o met maybe half a dozen people who even knew of them! She served me well though including single handed across the Atlantic.I am now back on Nantucket and boatless!Hope you are enjoying your 38.
