It'll be interesting to see how far this gets.

Re: Guns on board. Yes/no
I expect that this theme has been done to death many times but as a newbie I have seen very few , I know the basics of both sides. I would like to read more .( some very interesting reading in the Isis Philippine thread recently ) I am certainly no Rambo type and appreciate the risks of escalating a situation , but ? ( is there a but ? )

I have always wanted a 106 recoiless rifle. Seems like it would work for all kinds of things.

Re: Guns on board. Yes/no
No. IMO more hassle than they are worth. And useless against piracy where they will have more than you, if you are in the (extremely unlikely) event of being attacked.

A gun is like a penis .... pull it out at the wrong time and you're screwed

Re: Guns on board. Yes/no
I have made this a "hot topic"
I am sure everyone understands why, lets see how long it stays open, usually gun threads end pretty quick with at least one strike issued.
So let's try to be nice, and if you horribly disagree you can make your disagreement known much more effectively if you make it a logical argument and leave emotions out of it.
If you agree, follow the same rules, you only make yourself look foolish and you do not make your point if you get nasty, quite the opposite.

Re: Guns on board. Yes/no
Any pirates you meet will most likely outnumber you and possess military-grade weaponry. Good luck with anything short of an M-249 machine gun against that. Save your $$ and your breath.

Very few places to mount one on a boat where the BBDA wouldn't be a problem.
But the 50 cal spotter could be useful just by itself

A rather tiresome and too-often frequent topic. You'd understand if yo'd searched the topic.
