Genoa size Beneteau Oceanis 393

Hi

I have just bought a genoa for this boat, using the dimensions that the previous owner gave to me. However, having received it, it appears to be a 100% genoa, somewhat smaller than the 140% that it was supposed to replace.

The dimensions I gave the sailmaker were 39sq metres. Can anyone tell me if this sounds like the size for a 100% or 140% size genoa for this boat?

Many thanks,

Chris

The Beneteau website has puts the J dimension (from the front of the mast to the headstay/deck intersection) at 14' 6". Measure the LP (longest perpendicular -from the headsail clew to the point perpendicular, closet, on the luff). On 100% sail the LP will be 14' 6" (the foot length would be approx 16'). On a 140% sail the LP will be 20' 2" (the foot length would be approx 22').

Chris,

There's a 393 owners group on Yahoo that has 300 members. I'm sure you'll get a lot of help there on questions specific to this model.
