Fuel Whistle

I have a Hunter Vision 32 which is difficult to fuel. I want to install a fuel whistle in the vent line. Where do I find that?

Re: Fuel Whistle

Never even heard of such a thing, so I googled it, and guess what?

Re: Fuel Whistle

The vent line, not the Whistle.

Re: Fuel Whistle

It'll be the line coming off of the fuel tank and exiting the hull.

Re: Fuel Whistle

Vent separator is actually the tool for the job. might work better:

I have this one. Works perfect.
RACOR Lifeguard Fuel/Air Separator Vent Protector | West Marine

Cheaper.
ATTWOOD Fuel Vent Line Surge Protector | West Marine

EPA requirement on newer production boats. A requirement that actually works and is worth it.

Re: Fuel Whistle

I've used them... they help a little... the whistle pitch changes as fuel comes up the vent line. However on a hard to fill boat.. the fuel may come up the vent line often... so it's still hard to tell if you are full or not.... eventually slopping fuel over anyway.
Check your vent tube and see if it's sagging... a low spot that accumulates fuel. also, there are devices made that route the fuel that comes up the vent back to the tank in a return line. Never used one though.... might work if you are not real full yet.
Eventually I realized that I don't need my tanks too full... takes forever to use all that fuel anyway!
