Fresh WaterTankage

OK folks...I'm afraid it's time to seriously consider replacing the water tank">fresh water tank on our beloved M28OI. I welded some cracks at the top a few years ago (HA! - it worked!), now we've found splits near the bottom around the drain fitting! I'm gonna try welding this up as well, but it's gonna be dicey. I suppose the plastic is not so plastic anymore?.
Anyone have ideas on where we might locate a replacement tank to fit the same spot?

If Todd/Ronco/etc don't have one that fits Dura Weld will make one; great quality, not cheap. However, sometimes having an exact fit is worth it! plastic fabrication of water tanks, marine, boat and boating supplies. Rotational molding, piling caps, recycle bins construction and perch preventers.

OK folks...I was rummaging around yesterday taking measurements and found the ORIGINAL shipping label from Inca Plastics to the Morgan Yacht Company stuck to the side of our tank!!! and molded into the top was 'INCA 53'
Inca Plastics is still around, so I emailed them last night. I've already gotten a response from them: "$253 + UPS; just tell us where you need the fittings" I just LOVE the Internet (Thank you Dan Quail!).

There is one very important caveat. The claimed tankage can be very optimistic. My starboard tank was found to be 23 gallons, not the 30 claimed by the builder and listed on the water tank makers original label.

OK fellow cruisers, here's another update. I posted this info on another board and got a response from Ms Peggy Hall, formerly with Raritan. She mentions that Inca uses 3/16" thick plastic, while Ronco uses 3/8". A call to both companies confirms this!! . This should translate into a much stronger tank.
I checked Ronco's catalog, and lo & behold: they offer the same shape and size! Little more $$$, but what the heck - it's only money, right?
