Freeman Seadog 30: Deck Sandwich Construction

Hallo. I am interested in the Seadog. Until now I did not find any information about the construction of the deck and superstructure - solid or sandwich?
So are there any Seadog owners here?

Thank you

Hi Baff

I am a nexw owner of a Seadog 30 which to me is really a unique design and building.
The hul and topsides are solid, the hull being around 15mm thick at the top, thicker in the bottom.
Mine is one of the last built but is 46 years old, still with the original gelcoat as many of them.

Feel free to contact me by private message if you want to exchange information by phone or pictures by mail, if I can convice you to go for this marvelous boat!

For any other question, I am available

Definitely a classic design - strictly for cruising at leisure.

Very heavy hull layup, end grain balsa for stiffening foredeck.
Deep Seadog sailed reasonably the shallow draught version makes about 8 degrees leeway when hard to windward.

Not for go faster brigade but about the smallest aft-cabin boat available in the 1960s, right through for the next 30 years.
Sat out the Fastnet next door to one, anchored in the Pocket in Braye harbour, at the entrance to the inner harbour.
Took rather a long time for their cockpit to drain when the waves broke over the breakwater.
Notably we ran out of tonic to dilute the 10 bottles of export gin we'd got in Chanteryne, we were all due back in the UK that Tuesday and were only allowed 1 bottle each (a total of 5) a dreadful experience but a very quick trip back across the channel to Poole. The Seadog took 2:20' hrs longer than the Seal to make the trip.

Thank you for the information. I suspect it is the same for bilge keel and deep keel version.
