I just stumbled on this--Chuck Paine's very first Frances 26 is for sale at YachtWorld. My understanding is that the Frances 26 his first design and hull #1 was his own personal boat.

Very attractive boat. Love the design. Flush deck makes for a very small interior, the Monitor wind vane is very old as evidenced by the lack of a bottom brace, the ad copy needs a proofreader as usual. The new Beta can't possibly burn 1GPH.
