Fisher 30 - delivery trip - what are they like to sail ?

been asked by a guy in the yacht club to give him a hand to take his Fisher 30 ketch plus a 55hp inboard (i think) about 300 miles north to scotland

it's a trip that i've done plenty of times cos the final destination is not far from Largs

what are they like to sail ? i saw some piccies of it but can't remember seeing it on the pontoons at all --- big wheelhouse on it as far as i can tell from the advert piccies that i found through google

anyone been on one ?

Re: Fisher 30 - delivery trip - what are they like to sail ?

In the 90s I delivered a motor-sailor from Hawaii to California. I think it was a Fisher 38. It sailed like a pig, but it had lots of fuel and motored very well. It was nice , in that I only had to put on foulies a few times in the trip. The sailing on its tender ear was not fun, but most people with that type of boat , just motor everywhere. Go for it, You might get spoiled. _____Grant.

thank you for that Grant

if the wind keeps blowing the way it is at moment ie; all westerley gales then its going to be a reach all the way there got to hope that the Irish Sea is going to be most kind and forgiving

yup i had the same idea regarding foulies not being needed as well Henri Lloyd are going to be most displeased
