Kiss her feet, and you, your boat, and its accommodations will never be quite grand enough. Treat her poorly and never let her be quite sure of your devotion, and she'll likely stay. Personally, I'd rather sail alone or find someone pleased with me and mine.

I do not want this to devolve into a "this boat is better than that boat" argument and it is obvious that you like your boat. As you say - you are entitled to your opinion, but it seems to lack something that appeals to me. Some of the modern french boats feel spacious and airy and light. The aesthetics of a boat - how it makes me feel - are important to me. I could not contemplate spending lots of time on a boat that I dislike, one that lowers my mood rather than elevates and lifts it. Obviously it must be seaworthy and robust, but given the choice between boats that are seaworthy, I would prefer to pick one that makes me feel good just to be on it.

well I for one feel different than a lot of people here in that I'm not in the keep the boat and ditch the women camp

little wonder why so many seem to not be able to maintain a relationship, it's them

but this sounds to me that here is a case when one can have both and all it takes in a boat change, but some boat image is more important

Well, this is supposedly a long term relationship but it still has never moved to a committed stage and the lack of commitment shows in him coming here to discuss the boat or the lady. Either love takes over or it doesn't and it seems this has gone on a long time and love hasn't taken them over.

I would trade out anything I own for my wife if she wanted me to. On the other hand, she would never ask me to change anything. But we work together and find what is right for us. The very fact a boat or woman question arises says a lot to me about the lack of depth in their feelings for each other. Sounds to me like a relationship of convenience rather than true love.

I would not/have never asked advice about a boat I'm after buying.. and am even less likely to seek advice about a woman.. that's personal ****...
This alone.. to me.. is flaky to say the least..

BTW - I made sure my woman OK'd my boat. So I still have both!

Yeah.. they do like 'Woody' interiors over there..
Cabo Rico's are also drooled over but apart from the sweet exterior I'd slit my wrists in that dark gloomy cramped feeling interior..
Have not bothered looking at an Alden.. outa my price bracket so to me its like going to Harrods with a fiver..

Who does that.. can't even afford the sandwich.
