Congratulations! Good choice of vessel. Our club used to own a "Wind Song." Good name.

First boat I ever raced on was a ranger 23. Nice boats. Tough as nails. Ranger 22 is a little different a sportier version more like a Santana 20. Nice boats. Goood luck with it Little O

Hey, Little Otter, it's good to have you posting again. It must be Christmas break time for you.

Congratulations on your new (to you) Ranger 22! That's going to be a great platform for you to perfect your sailing skills. Are you keeping her on Lake Lanier? (I remember you had mentioned keeping a sailboat on the coast, at one time.)

I like the name Wind Song. You're way too young to remember John Denver, who died in a private plane crash a little over 12 years ago, but your dad might be able to tell you about him (or your grandfather ).

Anyway, John composed a great song called Windsong. Here's a link to it on YouTube: Beautiful music, I think, but then I'm a big fan of music with great lyrics that you can actually understand.

Don't stay away so long next time, Little Otter!

Hi there Little Otter and congratulations on the boat. Good to see you posting and moving towards your dreams.

We want to hear plenty of sailing stories!

BTW - What to you mean about ordering the name?

That's awesome - You should be very proud. A few things to fix up but I see you already have your screwdriver out - LOL.

With your mechanical skills you should have no problems.

Very beamy with a big cockpit. Excellent!.

Thanks Ex-Calif, I took it out on sunday with a 2' chop on the lake and I could barely feel it going over the waves and all we had was the mainsail up and we were doing close to 4 knots.

well I fixed the tear in the sail that was made on sunday and sewed the tape on with nylon thread and took some friends yesterday. one of them liked sailing so much that he said he wants to get a hobie cat, so if anybody knows of one for sale for under $1,000 let me know.

Tell him to save his money for soda pop and Gatorade and press-gang him into your race crew.

It's great fun for a bunch of (what are you now 17?) X year olds thrashing the old farts around the beer cans...

Let's see - New sails, new sheets, spinnaker, pole, new rigging - LOL....
