Anyone get inspired in the boat world by movies, books, or some form of fame?? I may be obvious in my love for Romancing The Stone, and the Mason 43 in the film (which doesn't match the picture Michael Douglas carries BTW) was recently sold on yachtworld to a lucky gun... out of my league for now. By chance new owner, are you on here? I always loved Endeavours due to Miami Vice (38 Cabo Rico in the pilot, 40 Endeavour first 2 seasons, then a 42). I also saw the Barnacle from John Candy's A Summer Rental for sale on Sailboat Listings - sailboats for sale

Any others? I imagine The River Queen would go for big bucks. The 70 foot in the Duran Duran RIO music video got a recent overhaul too. With the passing of Errol Flynn's widow this week, I looked up Errol's real life vessels. Anyone know the latest on classic film boats like Burt Lancaster or Captain Blood? I'd really love to know the status of the camera used boats in The Princess Bride (the short lived Dread Roberts' boat and the main one Wallace Shawn, Andre and Mandy were on). This may start a fun thread...

I've been trying to locate the Cabo Used in the Miami Vice pilot but so far no luck.

Formosa in Capt. Ron is nice. I like both boats in Message In a Bottle, they are older wooden designs.

"Bird" in The Talented Mr. Ripley is a beautiful boat as well

I did hear one of the Endeavours (think it was the 40) is being chartered in Florida
