F&C 44' KETCH: Lost documents-- please help?

Folks... In process of purchasing this boat-- it is missing all original documentation-- anyone out there have any of this electronically?

* Original Sail plan
* Owners Manual
* Boat Brochure
* Wiring Diagrams
* Architectural Drawings
* Maintenance Recommendations
* Perkins 4-108 Diesel Owners Manual

Thank you in advance for the help! Or even pointing us in the right direction...

It might help if you let us know what kind of boat is.

I thought I did in the subject header= F&C 44': FRERS & CIBIL

German Frers was the famous Argentinian Navel architect who designed the boat...

CIBIL was the actual builder in Buenos Aries...

You might try contacting Frers & Cibil directly.

What do you need the documents for??? No real man would read an owners manual, etc, let alone follow any of the directions. Beautiful boats, one I used to lust after.

My first thoughts were Ferro & Cement. But we don't get all the great craft that you guys have down here in the antipodes. I spend a lot of time looking for images of some of the boats that you all talk about. With lust in my eyes a good many times I tell you.

Coops.

Re: F&C 44' KETCH: Lost documents-- please help?

Hi Puddle Jumper. That is a gorgeous boat. I sailed on one twice this summer up on the LOng Island Sound. Absolutely fantastic boat and I am first on the owners list when he sells in the next year or two. I love the wide teak decks and easy to navigate Rails. Cannot stand those boats that your have to climb over a big raised cabin to get to the bow. biggest thing with the F&C 44 ketch is the chainplates. Not the best design as they cased into the topsides and prone to rusting and deteriorating from leaks at the deck. but then again, many 30 plus year old boats probably have some chainplate issues that need to be addressed eventually. If you have survey, ask them to pay extra attention to chainplates. There is a boatworks in Maine that has done two refits and when I inquired about doing a third they said they would not as it was like open heart surgery and a hip replacement at the same time. I was looking at an F&C down in maryland.

congratulations. They are such gorgeous boats. The lines on them are awesome. Roy Disney owned one which I believe is out west still. There are 3 of the F&C ketches in Westchester, NY. again, I am waiting for the call for one to be available and I too will have one of these beauties. Selling my farm for my new passion. Sailing! Happy Journeys as I am sure she will take you to many a fine place.

Lovely boat. I tried to buy one named Sapphire years back but survey showed hull damage in chain plate area Always wondered where she ended up.

Re: F&C 44' KETCH: Lost documents-- please help?

Hello Puddle Jumper. I have most of the information, but not in electronic form and its on the boat in Crete! However, I'm keen to help as much as I can. If you PM me your email address I will put you in touch with Ken Dacey in Canada who know as much as anyone about these wonderful boats. Mine is no 37, from 1981. Sadly, I will be putting it up for sale soon. Regards

James

Why did they not just lengthen the spreaders and put chain plates on the outside of the hull..??
