I need some advice about a 1971 Ericson 26. I will be looking at it in the next few days.

1. The boat I found has an outboard motor in a well. What can you tell me about that? Good ? Bad?

2. The owner said it has "wet ballast". Good or bad? What can you tell me about that?

3. From his desciption of the inside he has stripped it out. What should I look at or ask about?

4. He says it has all the sails and related hardware.

5. What should I look at or check out with this boat?

6. Worth looking at or walk away?

Go to Boat Trader.com and search for26 foot boats. Find out what the asking price is for this size boat. Then make an apppointment to see one of the closer sailboats. Compare what you see and the price of both boats. Then you can make a decision. All boats are a compromise.
