Endurance 35 bow spirt

Thanks for all the replies just by chance and old man walked up to me yesterday to admire the lines on the Endurance 35,

His a shipwright and has a friend that would fix it up for me.

Fingers crossed he can do it while I replace all the decks

How do you think I should treat the wood ? Varnish, paint, or let nature take it course seawater ?
