DINGHY MISSING IN THE MAGOTHY

I have lost my Walker Bay 8 which blew off the deck on Cockey's Creek on Monday. I'm going out tomorrow rain or shine to look for it. PM if you see it; the tide was coming in but the wind was blowing out. It has the sail kit fixings and attached vpd tubes.

Re: DINGHY MISSING IN THE MAGOTHY

Hope you get your dinghy back. When ours went walkabout, it was the wind that took it, we found it miles away, downwind. Led to our putting SOLAS reflective tape on the motor, and since then, it's never got away again. Maybe we learned to tie it up better! ;-)

KeelMe,

Maybe it would help if you say where the re-sale shop is? The OP could possibly get it back?

Re: DINGHY MISSING IN THE MAGOTHY

I was serious. However, I am in Port Charlotte at the moment. Either there was one heck of a current or it was a different boat.

We’ll keep an eye out this afternoon if we head out. Did you find it?

Smile FOUND MISSING DINGHY IN THE MAGOTHY

Thanks to everyone who helped the search. We found the dinghy on the back lawn of the Maynard home on Focal Point, between Cattail Creek and The Magothy. Mrs. Maynard had spotted it the previous day and fished it out on its return journey from up the creek without a paddle, placing it very visibly by the rip-wrap. We had only been looking for two and a half hours, having already motored in the drizzle up Cockey's, Old Man's and Nanny's creeks. We tied up to a ball downriver and enjoyed a delicious Szechuan Dry Hot Pot washed down by pints of Earl Grey, followed by a lazy afternoon fishing and snoozing. Altogether a splendid day out.
