Delta Yachts Delta 45 Ketch

Has anybody ever come across this maker/model
Looks a bit like oyster / formosa cocktail
In my mind this of course equates to - it has the best bits of both .....
like so many things in my mind - I really need some more info before I believe!

Hi GordMay
Thanks for your response
I had a look at somepics of the 46, very similar , but different , I'm guessing from the similarities same builder , maybe an earlier incarnation? the 45 is a 1980....- looks like it has the pilot house off an Oyster 46 jammed in the middle of the coachroof, and doesn't have the step on the sidedeck

Wow, pretty heavy and a bit like the Venus 46. I would probably like it as a staysail cutter-ketch is my dream boat rig.

Hi SV Alchemy Yes she looks "right" like a sail boat not a caravan with sails! Ketch my first like , cutter a bonus , 13 tonnes so not that heavy for a 45 ...,mmm..

Re: Delta Yachts Delta 45 Ketch

Some were sold in Germany I think. One was sold here:

DELTA 46 sailing yacht for sale | De Valk Yacht broker

The boat fully loaded up will verge on 20 tons so with only 85 m2 sail in split rig she is a motor sailor. However, this particular one had only 60hp engine while you could make good use of 100hp in a boat like this.

Probably each hull will be different, so look at the one you have in mind. The one above had a pilot house like structure which is great where it is rainy or cold (Europe, e.g.)

Not a boat that you want where it is very light or else get that 100 hp donkey and face the fumes.
