CS27....am I alone here??

I'm new here and am curious as to whether anyone else has a CS27...Canadian Sailcraft 27' sloop. I'm new to both this boat and to sailing, and there is seldom a day when I couldn't use some advice.

I cant imagine you are alone here. There seem to be so many of those boats around, at least here there are.
A good friend of ours has one, it seems a pretty fast boat. Although going down below for any time under seems to turn people green. Something I never experienced in either of our boats.
Cheers

Really ...my wife will be delighted with that!! I'm sure it's a matter of adjusting....to my knowledge we are not overly prone to motion sickness, having sailed with friends on like size boats, over the years.

Speed is a lesser concern, but should create some fun....we are on Lake Nipissing and it's roughly 40 x 20 kn....certainly no Lake Superior, but I think it will suit us fine.

Danno,
I am familiar with lake Nippissing. I grew up just south of North Bay by about 25 miles. The only sailboats we saw as kids were daysailers and dingys. I see now things have changed.

The CS 27 is a great boat. I have sailed ICE on Lake Superior for 5 years now.

It can take the bigger winds they pop up and has a deep cockpit.

Being one of the heavier 27 foot boats, it is slower in very light winds.

the single cylinder horizontaly mounted engine is a bit rough and noisey. We are usually on e ofthe forst to put up the sails after a lull.
